This is the stance that I think I’ve fallen on with AI with a LOT of thought about why it’s so disruptive.
The powers our (constructed)world runs on - influence(with a strong bias towards recognition) and money - are consolidated through endless production of *stuff* for us to engage with

The problem is:
They ARE slop, and AI is the best slop generator we have ever seen.
I am honestly of the belief that so many of the ramifications of AI as a technology are because we, as a society, run on slop, rather than incentivizing connection, community, and quality above content/production

Dancing is our frolicing. Singing is our howling. Drawing is our tearing apart the environment in a proud declaration of the self. Don't do it because you're good at it. Do it because you are a fucking animal and will go crazy without it.
I also think this is why it's so insidious that we look at art as a commodified skill that you are good or bad at, and not just as an inborn human behavior.
Increasingly I feel like I favor furry because it espouses the idea that humans, for all our mastery over nature, are still animals. We need to nap and wander and frolic and utter strange noises. It is good for us to be weird little guys, which is something society is so committed to stripping away.

One of the things I really appreciated about Claire Obscure is that because they divorced themselves from D&D/WoW/Standard Tolkeinic Fantasy/Medieval Fantasy tropes, all the characters got to have classes that were much more inspired by the characters themselves, and were all new and interesting.

When designed most considered the short tailed weasel to be nearly perfect. However, it was later acknowledged that since mustelids are known for being long putting a short tail on one was a rather egregious mistake.
Fortunately this was corrected in the follow-up model, the long tailed weasel.
