Whether that be through their own immaturity, deficiencies, or because they are assholes.

That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t connect. Set boundaries and go slow so that you aren’t taken advantage of by those who would do it,

AI is a tool/strategy that gets to build upon and reinforce all the different manners of abuse that people in power take advantage of systems that are supposed to “work”, and we haven’t even patched up the original domineering strategies that take advantage of us.

Everyone wants to be seen as “Just some guy”

But, we live in a world where those “Just some guys” get to make decisions influencing how much power other people have by depriving their faculties(thought), resources(money), and thus security.

AI isn’t the root problem here; this is

But it also defends a LOT of bad, because the empathy has a piece missing.

It is incomprehensible, the level of power that singular entities(people, corps, companies, influencers) have from influence and money, and so they take advantage of good people defending them with the empathy argument

And that defense is not a bad thing*, because it’s important to have due to protecting people in a state of vulnerability:
Kids, minorities, people engaging with something for the first time

It is rooted in empathy, and putting yourself in the shoes of others, and does a lot of good

We can’t take the time to think, and reflect, and care about things as more than slop.

Nobody has the ability to sit down and think
“No, this is actually shit. Make it better”

And even when they do, they are drowned out by the people who come to defend the focus, attacking the criticism itself —>

The problem is:

They ARE slop, and AI is the best slop generator we have ever seen.

I am honestly of the belief that so many of the ramifications of AI as a technology are because we, as a society, run on slop, rather than incentivizing connection, community, and quality above content/production

The fake slop postings are not because of AI.

They have been a HUGE part of what job postings have been for the past… 7 or so years, give or take, before commercial use of chapgpt kicked off all this AI slip everywhere.

This was MUCH better than the Mario movie. I didn't think that it was spectacular - I honestly don't know if I thought the first zootopia was spectacular, either - but it was at least a lot more fun and felt like there was actual heart put into it, instead of IP Slop like Mario
