art isn’t always going to make you comfortable. it’s treating art in this puritan sense where it has to please you, then it’s just a consumerist product… and we have these storefronts (payment processors too) constantly dictating what counts as art. in hypocritical ways. it’s grim really.

Itch is a tiny, now-profit entity and there's no way they can fight Visa et. al. But it's farcical to claim that the largest game storefront on the planet with a track record of laissez-faire management has its hands tied here.

Like yeah Payment Processors are probably why they did it, on the other hand all the evidence indicates they didn't have to in this case and also chose to disclose nothing about the process. And if Valve cared they have the resources to contest those rules...they just won't because Money.
