The only people I have heard of use these are 1) ICE 2) Creeps and stalkers who use them to record people without consent 3) the people who made them
God products like the Apple Vision Pro and Meta glasses are so funny because they make such a huge deal out of them and no one I know uses them or even owns one.

My game started coming together only after I finally stopped obsessing over certain worldbuilding and story aspects and committed to them, even when I wasn't sure if they'd work. I resolved to MAKE them work.
Was listening to a writer describe worldbuilding as something that is tempting to do because it can easily just be busywork that makes you *feel* like you're being productive even if you're not, and now I'm thinking about that frame of mind in relation to gamedev
