If you need a moment of good news….
BREAKING NEWS: We just won the largest ever verdict against a gun dealer in American history.

Today’s $62 million verdict will make the city of Baltimore exponentially safer from the scourge of gun violence.

This is the kind of action we need to reduce violent crime in our country.

Brady is uniting Americans against gun violence. We invite everyone who wants to end our epidemic of gun violence to take action, not sides.

I ❤️ Baltimore. Men’s bathroom, BWI, late arrival, accidental beautification. There has to be a backstory, but we’ll never know it.

I can’t be the only one whose first thought was: what a great way for the Qataris to gather intelligence on the prez and his people.
Not that this needs to be said, but bribery out in the open is still bribery.

More of this. Thank you, Senator @vanhollen.senate.gov!
I just landed in San Salvador a little while ago, and I look forward to meeting with the team at the U.S. embassy to discuss the release of Mr. Abrego Garcia.

I also hope to meet with Salvadoran officials and with Kilmar himself. He was illegally abducted and needs to come home.

Very much this.
A thing I think about a lot is how I was raised in a Catholic parish by very religious parents and had little contact with non-Catholics til college, and as a result absorbed the message that Catholics were a persecuted minority jeered at and oppressed historically and in the present. 1/

Assuming there is an election in four years - big if, I know - I hope the GOP enjoys it as much when President Ocasio-Cortez makes good use of all of the expanded Executive powers, freed from Washington’s pesky restrictive norms.

Exactly this.
we are getting a national version of red state governance, where the people in charge do everything they can to impoverish the state under the view that the more wretched things get, the easier it is for them to stay in power

This is what I mean.
we have a president with a tenuous grip on small legislative majorities who is out of the gate with a flurry of dramatically unpopular orders and who has just demonstrated his weakness on the international stage. if i were an elected member of his domestic opposition, i might try to draw real blood.

Good news: Maryland’s more-than-reasonable gun-control laws stand.
Supreme Court rejects petition to review Maryland handgun laws
The Supreme Court denied a petition to review a lower court’s decision to uphold Maryland’s handgun licensing requirements — a win for gun safety advocates in this nearly 10-year-long battle.
