Austria is showing the world what action looks like.

It took leaders just two weeks after a horrific school shooting to make steps to prevent tragedies and save lives.

How many more school shootings will it take for America to change our deadly status quo?

37-year-old Alex Pretti was a U.S. citizen, legal gun owner, and ICU nurse at the VA.

Institutionalized armed intimidation makes everyone less safe. And when cities are occupied by a federal agency used as a paramilitary force without consent of local leaders, escalating violence is more likely.

This morning in Minneapolis, ICE agents were involved in another potentially fatal shooting.

Details are still unclear, but this we know: armed intimidation and more guns in our communities does not make us safer.

3 yrs ago, 7 people were shot & killed, and 8 others were injured in Half-Moon Bay, CA. Days earlier, 11 people were shot and killed, and 9 were wounded in Monterey Park, CA, during a Lunar New Year festival.

These two tragedies remind us of the work that still needs to be done to end this crisis.

5 young people were shot after a fight broke out on a bus in D.C. on Thursday. Easy access to firearms too often turns a simple argument into a deadly situation.

But we're making progress. DC had a 29% decline in violent crime in 2025 over 2024 & 2024 had the lowest violent crime in 30+ years.

As part of Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill," Congress removed a longstanding tax on gun silencers.

That change took effect on January 1, and according to the NSSF, ATF processed approximately 150,000 applications that day — a 5,900% increase over the typical daily volume.

But she’s not the only one. There must be a fair investigation of anyone else who has been injured or killed during immigration operations.

Gun violence is never acceptable.

Public servants shouldn't have to stay vigilant out of fear of targeted shootings, but with recent acts of political violence, that fear is very real.

It is essential for those who feel able to speak out to do so, for ourselves and for countless others who fear the consequences of raising their voices.

Democracy includes the ability to live, gather, and dissent without the constant threat of lethal harm. These are rights we must protect.
When violence by state actors becomes normalized and guns become a regular part of conflict, it sends the anti-democratic message that we must all live in fear because shooting first and asking questions later is the norm.

Read more about what's at stake and what you can do in my latest Substack.
