Austria is showing the world what action looks like.

It took leaders just two weeks after a horrific school shooting to make steps to prevent tragedies and save lives.

How many more school shootings will it take for America to change our deadly status quo?

Schools shouldn’t be death zones.

A new WSU study shows teens ages 14-18 face unprecedented risk of death by firearm.

We are losing our children to a uniquely American epidemic and yet, too many leaders still look away.

Another weekend, another horrific shooting. 4 people have been killed and 12 people injured in a shooting after a Mississippi homecoming game.

As this tragedy shows, violence doesn’t just occur in big cities. Even a small town like Leland is not immune.

The problem? Easy access to guns.

The DOJ’s new rule could let people prohibited from owning guns under federal law to regain access to firearms.

DOJ’s proposal of allowing applicants to pay $20 and then providing a 6-minute review of each case is not “due diligence.” There must be a responsible relief process.

Compared to the rest of the world, the United States stands alone with the threat we face from gun violence. It’s time to pass common sense safety measures–that over 80% of Americans agree on–to make our streets safer.

@jonathanjackson.house.gov is right: this Administration isn’t even remotely serious about addressing gun violence in Chicago or anywhere.

There are proven solutions to stop the flow of illegally acquired firearms. The gun lobby demands Trump ignore them.

Rep. Jonathan Jackson: "If this was genuine, Trump would be more interested in saying, 'How do we effectively deal with gun violence? How do we deal with gun manufacturers?' The city of Chicago does not have one gun shop."

There are many events in life that can be overwhelming and triggering. Remember to check in with your loved ones. Have conversations about firearm storage. And if you own a firearm, be sure it's stored securely: locked, unloaded, and away from ammo.

Domestic violence and guns are a deadly mix.

When an abuser has a gun, the risk of a woman being killed increases fivefold.

Keeping guns out of the hands of abusers isn’t optional. It’s how we save lives.

At least 14 people were shot and two killed near downtown Montgomery, Alabama, late Saturday.

A disagreement turned deadly due to easy access to guns and a shoot first culture.

More Americans now say violence might be needed to “fix” the country.

This is the direct result of years of reckless rhetoric by the gun industry and our leaders allowing unfettered access to guns.

We must unequivocally reject violence and dangerous rhetoric in all of its forms.
There’s a growing number of Americans who think violence might be necessary to get the country back on track
Nearly a third of Americans – 30% – say people may have to resort to violence in order to get the country back on track, according to the latest PBS News/NPR/Marist poll.

Ten years ago, on Oct. 1, 2015, a shooting at Umpqua Community College in Oregon killed a professor and 8 students & wounded even more. The incident only took minutes, but its trauma will last a lifetime.

Students and teachers shouldn't have to hide under desks to stay alive. We deserve better.

8 years later and the weapons that were restricted in the wake of this massacre are now back in civilian hands.
