End to end purge of Democratic Senators who feel comfortable admitting this sort of thing out loud. End to end.
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

democrats have no real power to reopen the government without causing tremendous harm to millions of people in a few months as opposed to today and i would make the case making it clear the GOP are the ones actively deciding to harm people is both wise politics and self-preservation

It’s because you’re a clown who does clown things on TV and he’s the Mayor-elect of New York City.
Canadian multimillionaire and Shark Tank guy Kevin O'Leary went on TV to say he's upset Zohran won't talk to him: "I and others who invest in real estate have tried to get a meeting to figure out what's rhetoric and what's policy. So far for me it's been crickets."

Jason Stanley isn’t afraid to use the F-word when talking about President Donald Trump.
The author of How Fascism Works and Erasing History: How Fascists Rewrite the Past to Control the Future is clear: He believes the US is currently under an authoritarian regime led by a fascist leader.

I study fascism. I’ve already fled America.
On this week’s “More To The Story,” former Yale philosophy professor Jason Stanley explains his recent move to Canada and calls the Trump administration’s takeover of the US government a “coup.”

I am personally disgusted by this and would like to be on record that if I were presented with this set of facts, I would absolutely vote to convict per the judge's instructions.
The law is the law, and I have as little right to ignore that as a hypothetical prosecutor has reason to strike me.

straight-up jury nullification. this guy did it, confessed to it, and the jury instructions explicitly said that if he did it intentionally, it was assault.

Helen Andrews makes a lot more sense as a person when you realize it’s all just one big kink to her.
Wild for Helen Andrews to hand-wave this stuff as "half-clad pin-ups":
- Outright porn posted on the walls at multiple worksites
- Penthouses and Playboys shared publicly to be read at work
- Management allowed nude women calendars but barred political ones
It's good that this is now unacceptable!

People are having all kinds of public breakdowns these days.
All drug use outside palliative care should be criminalized and possession of dealer quantities should be punishable by death without appeal.

“If we lost the majority in the house... they will try to end the Trump administration. He won't have 4 years, he'll have only 2–because they will move to impeach him, probably on the first day of the new Congress… and they will try to systematically unwind all [our fascist] reforms.”
Sounds great!

Better than even odds she doesn’t finish her term at this point. Whatever her issue is appears to be accelerating.

He was the first NYC mayoral candidate to win more than a million votes since 1969 and he was running against a member of a New York political dynasty with limitless funding from some of the wealthiest people on the planet. Who is paying you to teach?
Btw, the press obsessing about Mamdani seems weird. He seriously underperformed the Democratic vote in NYC compared to recent elections, barely scraping 50%. Moderate Democrats in VA and NJ dramatically overperformed. That seems the real story

Look, he’s telling us where the line is for him. He’s showing us what he is and isn’t capable of as minority leader. It’s not 4D chess, it’s not anything except political will or the absence thereof. This should be clarifying for anyone wondering if he deserves to keep his job.
Just hours before polls are set to close, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer declined to reveal who he cast his vote for in the New York City mayoral election amid his continued rejection to endorse the Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani. bit.ly/49CEVpN

My concern about Mamdani is that he’ll try and fail to overcome New York’s highly resilient machine politics and younger voters will take this as a sign that electoralism is useless, rather than an indication of the urgent need to elect 100k more like him at every level of government.
i genuinely do think a lot of people thought zoomer decline in voting was structural over zoomers just not really being activated to vote, tbh

Dem donors would be infinitely better off taking the Bezos approach and buying hostile conservative news outlets to gut them, but even that would have limited impact because the right wing infosphere and its consumers actively reward subversive upstart media in ways the left does not.
To a first approximation, I think zero point zero percent of people calling for Dem-funded media would, if it existed, consume Dem-funded media.
The point is that Dems don't fund independent media on the same scale as Republicans, despite raising record amounts of money. You can see it here, where many left leaning writers are begging for subs and having to use a subscription/paywall model whereas the right gives out content for free
