Google's AI, Gemini, is being added to its smart-home products. Our writer tested it for three weeks in her own home and was both creeped out and annoyed.

NINE YEAR FAJITA HEIST

(technically nine year fajita fraud scheme but I'm counting this as a heist because it's funny enough)
I remember seeing a story years ago where a prison cook was caught having stolen $1.2 million of fajitas over 9 years.

One week he took off sick, someone else answered the order call and was like "what are you talking about? We don't serve fajitas."

If you like a writer's work, tell them! Email, LinkedIn message, DM, even in person at an event. It can make a huge difference in their lives, especially right now with declining freelance budgets, layoffs, stagnant salaries, the threat of AI, and dwindling book advances.

the only hint that this could be BECAUSE OF WHAT INDICTMENTS THE ADMINISTRATION IS BRINGING AND HOW THEY ARE DOING IT is in the last four words of the photo cap and downplayed as "procedural stumbles"
In 2016, the Justice Department brought charges against 130,000 suspects. Grand juries rejected indictments only six times.

During the Trump administration, by contrast, grand jurors have repeatedly rejected prosecutors’ requests for indictments.
Trump administration prosecutions focus new attention on grand juries
The administration has struggled with an unusual level of rejections in some cases and procedural stumbles in others.

Another automation that I would cheerfully accept would be a tool to PROPERLY copy last year's Canvas module to this year's canvas module (without requiring every single link and image file be hand checked) and update the relevant dates.
As I begin to clear up duplicate files in preparation for backing everything up so I can do a full wipe/reinstall, I submit that one ACTUALLY USEFUL automation that I would cheerfully accept would be a script that auto-files PDFs (and cleans duplicates) at the point of download.
