I jest of course. It aint THAT DEEP and Xal is not particularly complex, but I think THAT is the difference here. I love this revelation and others like it for the drama that is tied therein while the general "it's WARcraft" crowd just want violence for the SPECTACLE of it all.

I'm going to be real I straight up think it's a skill issue if you can't convey emotion without a lack of a face. Like you just need to establish what's normal for the character so then you can deviate. Use body language, use tone if there's a voice?? Humans are designed to look for expression

This is why I don't buy the whole "we removed the eye glow so their emotions would be easier to read" argument for the blood elf cinematic trailer because Blizzard has ALWAYS been excellent at conveying emotions through expression work. Even for characters without features.
