9th Street in Old Oakland is open to people today, closed to cars.

There’s no good reason this can’t be permanent along with bringing back car free Washington, the street perpendicular to 9th.

There’s minimal car traffic here and opening streets to people would help small businesses tremendously.

The East Bay Parks have released the 2026 Trails Challenge guidebook, so it's time for another guidebook addendum showing all the ways to get to their suggested trails car-free!

Such a missed opportunity from the district to promote sustainable recreation!

did some research after seeing a spot honoring her in the book shop and happily, this is actually a memorial to the victim, Gloria San Miguel.

Still brutal, but proof that ghost bikes are never just sad reminders–they're a testament to community and people who care.

There should be a law that whenever a vehicle hits a pedestrian or bicyclist, the street should be reduced to two lanes, narrowed to 20 feet, and have speed bumps installed so that the maximum realistic speed one can drive on it is 15 mph.

If cars were any other consumer product, they would have built in speed limits to ensure safe operation. I can’t accidentally set my thermostat to 500F and burn down my house. So why can cars drive 75mph on city streets?
