A Texas man is facing serious charges this week after Berkeley police say they linked him to felony sex crimes that took place in 2002. Two women later identified Lashay Durisseau as their assailant and his DNA connected him to the crimes, Berkeley police say.

Berkeley officials are warning the public about leptospirosis, a bacterial disease that can be fatal in dogs and humans, after animals in the Harrison Street corridor tested positive.
