I love coffee, pets, and people who care about others more than power or money. Dislikes: racism and lima beans. Professional Christian, newspaper employee, public library trustee. Proud Pro-semite. She/her.
1. I understand your decision today let this go, once you made sure your kid's friend is taken care of.

2. Letting them stew is not all that petty. They just had to suffer the natural consequences of being stingy on the one official "abundance" holiday in our country.

Yep. I diaagree with them on most everything, but at least they aren't willingly carrying water for sexual predators.

One of my favorite Christmas movies, and that dress is amazing too.

Mr DePlume used to be a restaurant manager. One Sunday his place got swamped because the restaurant at the other end of the block ran out of steak.

Not just any restaurant, mind you.
It was an Outback Steakhouse.
On Father's Day.
Ran. Out. of. Steak.

Sorry, can't talk you down here.

I am terminally allergic to making people mad at me, but for a young adult with nowhere to go? I would absolutely burn that bridge.

Do you think they'd settle for "From the Hudson to the Bay"?

I understand the wish for group chats, but TBH I don't want any more channels of communication to have to check.

I have a MacBook Air 15" and it can handle anything I've thrown at it. The larger size helps me go without a second monitor more often. (I still need two screens for work sometimes, though)

My daughter has an iPad with a Zagg Pro Keys cover (much cheaper than the apple version, of course). She has a laptop too, but for classes/note taking, she pretty much only uses the iPad.

If you are mostly just using their internet and writing, the iPad might do what you need.

P. S. The sewing bee is available for free on the Roku Channel, along with 7 seasons of the Pottery Throwdown and 2 seasons of a woodworking competition in haven't tried yet.

And the uninsured will still need care (often in emergency rooms) that exceed their ability to pay, further straining hospitals' charitable funds.

I am diving back into old seasons of "The Great British Sewing Bee" to try to heal my brain.

My sincere condolences.

But since misery loves company, welcome to the pity party!

They usually just say par-FUM, but in a weird breathy voice that I assume they think sounds more French.

Yeah. If I weren't already an old married gray, the 'news' this is weekend would definitely have made me queerer.

The streaming ad algorithm mostly makes me happy that I don't have any of the aggressive mitotic-latent, inter-receptive, transgenomic, lustrous-flocculent autoimmune cancers treeated by the drugs they show me day in and day out.

(I also see a lot of glp1 spots, but I ignore them.)

This all reminds me of the "good old days" of the internet when you'd hear about a brain bleach-inducing situation, but wouldn't probably actually understand the reference until A) you turned off 'safe search' or B) you went to Urban Dictionary.
