Music and sports carried him through high school as he attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and then Walbrook High School. When he went to college at University of Maryland Eastern Shore, majoring in construction management, he was given the nickname Mullyman — Mully as an acronym for Master of Unorthodox Lyrics Leading You. He added “man” at the end to give the name a superhero aspect. He gained a reputation for battling rappers from other states and consistently coming out on top at UMES. The essential DNA of hip-hop culture is often left ignored as rappers chase social media numbers over learning the craft. The art of mastering things like live performance, breath control, counting bars, song structure, and song placement has taken a back seat in the life of today’s rap artists. But with OGs like Mullyman still around, there is hope, and room to continue the conversation about the longevity of an emcee.

LOUIS, MO — This morning, the St. Louis Board of Aldermen passed a groundbreaking resolution, “Ensuring Ethical Investment of City Retirement Funds,” ensuring that city retirement investments align with St. Louis’s commitment to human rights, racial justice, and peace. Backed by the grassroots coalition Not Another Nickel, the resolution was sponsored by Alderman Rasheen Aldridge and co-sponsored by President Megan Green, Alderwoman Alisha Sonnier, and Alderman Shane Cohn. The measure calls on the Board of Trustees of the Employees Retirement System of the City of St. Louis to divest from any companies that profit from—or are complicit in—human rights abuses, including war, occupation, apartheid, or systemic racism. I look at today’s date and I shiver. The remains of last night’s high we all experienced now getting quieter. The anniversary of when America had a giant “WTF” thrust upon us is now staring me in the face. And people are already experiencing sadness. It is bizarre that it’s been a year.

this morning, ICE went into a Spanish language immersion daycare and took a teacher from the building in front of screaming and crying kids and parents at dropoff and the daycare had to shut down for the day (near Lane Tech, where they were yesterday). Really hoping today's "theme" is not "daycare."
