This coming Monday the 13th is a holiday in #Canada, being their #Thanksgiving. If you live there, and can afford to, think of doing some donations to soup kitchens or homeless shelters etc. If you just have time you can spare, offer to volunteer there and they will absolutely appreciate it.

Nobody should ever have to fight that battle alone. Yet globally there's a severe shortage of access to mental health care. We need to do more, to bring access to this care, to everyone who needs it.

Many people fight a battle daily that nobody else is aware of. They hide the inner war from even those closest to them. There can be surprise among those closest to the person, when they finally hit a point in that battle that they just can't get past, can't hide it and become overwhelmed by it.

1 in 100 children is born with a congenital heart defect. But there is no “artificial heart” device that exists for babies or young kids. The FDA has even identified this as an area of critical medical device need.

The Trump administration just canceled funding for clinical trials of such a device.

Before the US government changes everything, we'd like people to remember that Healthcare IS a human right. EVERY person in a country should have equal access to proper care whenever they need it. That care should be affordable to those with an income, and fully provided for those without.

While we're all for new treatment or medication options to help people with such conditions, we need to be cautious until sufficient studies are completed. Nobody should be popping shrooms to see if it works. This paper gives a good run down on the subject.
