These 2 jellies look very similar in the water - both are ~1 cm across, have a yellow cross where the gut attaches & a ring of golden dots. The ID is in the radial canals

How are there barely 500 larvacean (appendicularia) observations on iNaturalist?
I swear they are ubiquitous. I know they are tough to photograph and they can be little but they are everywhere and their little snot houses are so cool.

My dad died last night. I think he was dead when we found him but I did compressions until the ambulance arrived and his color was coming back but they just couldn’t get his heart going again. I talked to him an hour before, but he wasn’t answering when I told him I’d made it home with his dinner.
