My god, the door slamming is once again reaching a ridiculous level. It's like living in an apartment complex with exclusively really angry 12-year-olds who don't know how to close the door except by slamming it. Except everyone is adults and they just stare at you while it happens 😭

Well yeah of course everyone is throwing out their glass straws. I got one of those glass cups with one exactly ONE time, and a week after I got it I noticed a huge chip on the bottom of the straw even though I had barely used it. THEY ARE NOT A SAFE SOLUTION. Plastic straws 4ever.

my “AI is over” anecdote is that my wife was hired over the summer to write scripts for a big tech company explaining how to use their AI tools and after many rounds of revisions, the latest notes said “we’re finding a lot of AI fatigue among our users” and to remove all references to AI
Anecdotally on twitter seeing a big shift the last few days from every AI slop account saying every other creative field is “over” and they’re in control now to now posting about how nobody likes them and it’s not fair and they’ll persevere and real artists respect and uplift eachother

I've also found that this is a very gender & race specific response. To me, a woman: "everyone does that" "my autistic cousin doesn't... " "I don't think that's autism" etc but as soon as a white cis man says he's autistic, every single one of his faults is attributed to that AND excused
The interesting thing about autism is how the word alone impairs other people's empathy.
If I say I "don't get certain types of jokes", that's fine, everyone gets it. If I say I'm autistic and take things literally, suddenly I'm defending my diagnosis and all my experiences.
