Another horror film rec for Halloween: Angel Heart (1987), an extremely dark, twisty, neo-noir horror about a private eye hired by a less than savoury client. Don't read up anything about it. Just go watch. It's rough, grimy, and absolutely dripping in atmosphere. Certified classic.

Farewell to an absolute titan of contemporary art, the German-British painter Frank Auerbach (1931-2024). His work was distinctive by way of the dense layering of the paint, where the works are almost sculptural than painted.
