Oh no. I thought it was Friday and decided to finish my audiobook. Instead of sleeping. It's Friday now... But I still have to get up in a few hours and do daytime stuff 😬💤💤💤

Oops.

I just saw someone describe an author as a "shill for big copyright" because she (the author) wants to be paid for her books instead of having them pirated and I think that's enough internet for today. It's only 8:30 in the morning but the loathing that person expressed for authors was too much.

If the cats no longer wish to get up for breakfast, why am I still waking up at 6am?

I really want to like birds. They're cute and sassy. So much personality!

But as someone who gets headaches and migraines, have they ever thought about shutting the hell up?

Hey as most of the country gets plunged into terrible heat and humidity: if you got AC, use it. There is no special big kid prize for waiting until it hits a certain arbitrary temperature. Heat sickness comes on fast. Just use the damn thing.

Every time I see someone come out as trans it's like seeing a supernova exploding in the sky.

What a beautiful and magnificent thing to witness, someone proudly determining for themselves and themselves alone who they truly are.

May we all have moments of such splendor.

Amazing breakdown of the recent @newyorker.com piece that twists HIV/AIDS activist history to prop up the lab leak theory
I subscribe to the @newyorker.com, I was part of ACT UP, I knew Larry Kramer well and know Tony Fauci too. Daniel Immerwahr's piece on RFKJr, features this and other passages that need a reponse. 1/

my most early 2000s-coded trait is that every first of May I like to spring Jonathan Coulton’s “First of May” upon at least one entirely unsuspecting person and just go “oh here’s a fun song I like with today’s date in the title, ha ha” and then sit back and wait for the response

As advised by my friend and colleague who is an Irish language scholar and folklore collector, I have hung a small posy of yellow wildflowers at my front door to see off curses for the next year.
Considering how things are going, seems worth a shot?
