That’s been the prevailing view for the 46 years since it was discovered.
Here we provide a new paradigm and show that vinculin is a complex mechanosensor itself, containing 6 binary switch domains.

Long noncoding RNA-dependent control of Myc transcriptional bursting
Li et al. show that the chromatin-associated long noncoding RNA Pvt1 is a negative regulator of Myc transcription by increasing local RNA concentration and limiting bursting from the Myc promoter. This mechanism serves to restrain Myc levels and restrict its proliferative and oncogenic activities.

Tubbs et al. report a human assembloid composed of self-organizing 3D blood vessel organoids with human pancreatic islets. This assembloid improved insulin secretion over time on five donors, suggesting new islet prevascularization that could potentially improve islet transplantation strategies and outcomes for type 1 diabetes patients.
