My advice to anyone involved in Your Party? Don't be.

You are a plaything of Sultana, a vehicle for her ambitions.

Go with the Greens or the SNP, or someone else - anyone else in the broad left-leaning movement - depending where you are.

Sultana, from the very beginning, has used what should have been quite a successful movement into a plaything for her own ambitions.

She has an extremely dangerous and destructive tendency for unilateral action, which has seriously undermined trust in the party.

Hence the Green surge.

She then unilaterally boycotted the first day of the conference, in a clear attempt to undermine Corbyn and jockey for power.

She then pushed collective leadership, again to deliberately push Corbyn aside and give her the opportunity to advance her own power and faction.

Very obvious that she intended this move to give her bargaining power over other factions, took 800k into her own separate account - not the official Your Party one. Backfired on her, but that was the clear strategy. To give her bargaining power and dare Corbyn and the party to go against her.

Sultana is an extreme gas lighter, and has clearly been on manoeuvres since day one.

She unilaterally declared the launch of the party and unilaterally declared herself co-leader, removing the opportunity from others.

She then unilaterally launched the fundraiser, taking 800k.

This will just amplify the tendencies of the far-left towards factionalism and chaos.

Won’t work.

Can’t work.

Thank you for your work.

Medieval Europeans are too often mischaracterised as stupid unclean brutes.

This is partly a legacy of the Enlightenment.

We had to look down on our own past, in order to imagine our current civilisation superior, and justify colonisation of the still backward.

The chapter is very out of place in an otherwise great book.

Wish authors would stay away from this kind of thing, extreme speculation utilising frankly tiny/speculative forms of evidence.

We should also be wary about imposing categories of gender, transgender, LGBTQI etc that the Vikings simply did not recognise.

And no, Druidic practices of "transforming" into animals are not confirmation of LGBTQI identities - or related to them in any way.

The peaceful Norse householder and farmer.

The skilled artisan, sometimes the skilled local ruler who wisely sidesteps the warbands and stays out of things.

There will have been many Norse - perhaps most - who were out there living peaceful lives, hunting, fishing, farming and crafting.

The really interesting Norse people are often nameless. The ordinary people, particularly those out in the far reaches. Uninvolved in the Viking expansion - perhaps not even knowing it is happening.

Or perhaps themselves running from it.

Hunting and fishing in peace. Trading with the Sami etc.

protect themselves from paying for what they use and consume.

And it all comes down to their ability to buy lawmakers.
