Last week, ICE arrested and separated a father and son after a routine check-in. Six-year-old Yuanxin had just enrolled in the first grade at an elementary school in Astoria. Now he's in custody, alone. ICE won't say where. This cruelty serves no one. It must end.

Canada has already lost its measles elimination status.

The US is on track to lose its status in January.

Just like with COVID, it’s the kids who are going to pay the biggest price.

They have no agency. They can’t decide to get vaccinated, their parents must do the right thing.

SNAP isn't about "people who don't work." It's about people who don't get paid enough to live.

Of the 40 or so million people who rely on food stamps:

* Two-thirds are children, seniors, or disabled

* Most working-age adults who receive SNAP are employed—but in jobs that pay poverty wages

Is anyone keeping track of cost of Trump's pardons in lost fines and restitution payments?

I knew Fox News was theater. I just didn't realize it was a repertory theater that recycles actors for different roles.

You'd think a company that had to pay $787,000,000 for deceiving its viewers would be a little more careful about blatantly continuing the practice.

Trump is launching a full blown attack on free speech while his harem of billionaires buys up every media platform. This is no coincidence. It’s a coordinated attack on your fundamental right to speak freely without worrying if you’ll lose your job or worse.

19 drones launched over several hours, from Russia and Belarus, into Poland, were not a mistake. Many of them did not carry explosives, so they had not gone astray in Ukraine....they were a probe of Poland, NATO and Trump.

Can we stop to talk about how remarkable the timing was? Compliant at 1am, Judge engaged at 2am, ex parte call to the Government at 2:30am (they did not answer), TRO at 4am?

On a Sunday of a holiday weekend?!

NEW: We could house every unhoused person in D.C. for a quarter of the cost of Trump’s D.C. invasion.

And that’s not just true in D.C. — it’s true in just about every state in the country.

'So much for the rule of law': Conservative slams Trump Cabinet for 'abasing themselves'
Conservative writer William Kristol raged in the Bulwark against a “Politburo meeting, in which the highest-ranking government officials of the world’s oldest and once greatest democracy abased themselves ridiculously before their presidential idol.” “Every Trump apparatchik took a turn in the Cabinet Room adulating their leader. They even sought to outdo each other,” Kristol wrote, adding that U.S. diplomat “Steve Witkoff’s fawning may have taken the prize.” “There’s only one thing I wish for: That that Nobel Committee finally gets its act together and realizes that you are the single finest candidate since that Nobel award was ever talked about,” Witkoff told Trump and the rest of the group. READ MORE: 'It’s a real gut punch': Rural voters 'stunned' by Trump’s damage But there was stiff “Butt-snorkeling” competition, said Kristol, quoting retired Gen. Ben Hodges “The flattery is so over-the-top as to be — in short doses, at least — entertaining. And watching the other cabinet secretaries being sure to vigorously nod along to their colleagues’ moments of adoration, lest they seem less than fully enthusiastic, is a sight to behold,” said Kristol. Kristol said Trump added his own piece to the show, mocking critics who dare to claim he’s behaving like a dictator. “A lot of people say, ‘You know, if that’s the case, I’d rather have a dictator.’ But I’m not a dictator,” Trump mused. “We have a president who rejects any checks on presidential power, and who is trying to normalize the view that dictatorship maybe isn’t so bad,” Kristol said, adding that Trump also attacked the idea that an opposition to the president and his agenda “has some sort of right to exist.” READ MORE: Trump's reckoning may be right around the corner — here's why “The Trump administration rejects that,” Kristol said. “On Monday night, Trump’s deputy chief of staff, Stephen Miller, appeared on Fox News. He called the opposition party ‘an entity devoted exclusively to the defense of hardened criminals, gangbangers, and illegal, alien killers and terrorists. The Democrat party is not a political party. It is a domestic extremist organization.’ “So much for the rule of law,” said Kristol. “So much for limits on the power of the executive. So much for the legitimacy of opposition to the government.” Read Kristol’s Bulwark report at this link.
