As a society we largely gave up on exploration, curiosity, artistic expression, and kindness, and accepted the dehumanizing premise that the only value that matters is economic value. Acceptance of that dehumanization led directly to every one of grim situations we’re facing now.

For all my criticisms of Dems one thing I think they handle just fine is religion. They understand that their private faith can inform their political stances without imposing their religion on everyone else. You know, like the constitution says.

Sounds like not a bad first day for #waleg. Yes, it’s going to be a tough session, focused on balancing the budget. But the more our state can do to stick it to the lawless federal government, the happier I’ll be.
