#Iraq: I agree with this from Kirk Sowell. The performance of al-Sudani’s Reconstruction and Development Coalition is notable, but the gains made by the parties of the Coordination Framework mean he will struggle to bargain his way to a second term, notably al-Sadr could not do it with more seats.

Political wings of Shi'a militias scored major wins.
Nouri al-Maliki is not going anywhere anytime soon.
Mohammed al-Halbousi is pretty much the king of Iraqi Sunnis.
And despite the fact that incumbent PM Sudani's bloc did well, there's still no guarantee he’ll keep the premiership.
URGENT:
Mumbers of parliamentary seats won by each bloc in Iraq's general elections that were held on Tuesday:
Incumbent PM Sudani's bloc, 46 seats.
Maliki's State of Law, 28 seats.
Sadiqoon (political wing of AAH militia), 27 seats.
Badr Organisation, 18 seats.
Patriotic State Forces, 18 seats.
