There's a lot of software aimed at conlangers, which I imagine represents a larger userbase than fieldworkers. Most of it isn't widely adopted, and isn't really very good. However, there's a lot of overlap in what conlangers and fieldworkers need. So *maybe* the #conlang community can help here.
TLDR in thread: Digital work in language documentation - by this we mean everything from ‘just’ transcribing to building talking dictionaries, etc - relies on an old, fragile software suite. One of the most fragile and problematic programs in this suite is SIL FLEx 1/
