The #lexember feed is relevant again!
Oh, yay: @gliese1337.bsky.social has made a feed for #Lexember posts! bsky.app/profile/did:... Lexember is the best time of the year: an annual challenge for conlangers to coin (and post) one new lexeme each day throughout December. I’ve pinned this and can’t wait for 1 Dec!

Repondering Cannonball #xenobiology, and it is really annoying how iron pentacarbonyl is just about the most efficient way to package iron in a nonpolar liquid form. It makes disposing of waste iron after CO disproportionation very difficult.

Had a lovely conversation with Britton Watkins (who recently produced the Yautja language for Predator: Badlands) on this topic yesterday, and it has caused me to rethink how to target my Standard Rant first best results. (And made me even more skeptical of the prospect of PHM getting it right.)

You CANNOT spend FSA money on health care premiums, and if you’re self-employed or unemployed you don’t even have a fucking FSA.
"A development that appeared to break the logjam: Republicans proposed that healthcare funding be provided directly to households rather than used to pay for a 1-year extension of ACA subsidies. That involves sending federal money into FSAs instead of insurance companies" www.wsj.com/politics/pol...
Republicans Pitch Alternative to ACA Extension to End Government Shutdown
A proposal by GOP senators to send money directly to consumers’ health accounts rather than to insurance companies showed signs of breaking a stalemate on negotiations.

I thought Surreal Estate had a silly-looking premise, but I like ghost stories, so I started watching it. And now, I am convinced the Winchesters should've been real estate agents. It seems like the ideal way to investigate supernatural occurrences *while getting paid*.
