Immigrant - Researcher - Activist - Heritage Languages Educator & Trainer - Presenter - My opinion is my own
I miss posting in twitter. The interactions, the amount of great minds and hearts 💕 I could reach & learn from 😢
I need to recreate the space. But I stand by my decision to leave.

This is one of my favorite weeks with my heritage language classes. Students listen to different episodes from @radio-ambulante.bsky.social and we have the BEST connections & conversations ❤️🦋✊🏼

Excited to welcome Central States: Languages for All to KC & to present 2 sessions. I hope to see many great WL educators & learn w/them. This year, the focus on the United Nations Sustainability Goals is more relevant than ever! Please register if you have not done it yet. I can't wait to see you!

Presenting my dissertation's outcomes on the interaction & perspectives of L2 educators w/HL Ss at NW University National Symposium on Spanish as a Heritage Language is a dream. In a field where educators work in isolation, networking w/scholars who inspired my research is special. I cannot wait.

When I chose not to work today in support of my immigrant community, I took 1 of my personal days off
Planning on spending my day emailing my reps & BOE members explaining concerns & asking questions related to the state of fear & threats our people are experiencing.
This is work … not vacation ❤️🦋✊🏼

Today ICE raided our community. This is just the beginning but we know that we have rights, we have each other, & we have organizations that support us ❤️✊🏼🦋 No estamos solos

What’s your school district doing? Silence is compliance. We need visible statements condemning the current attacks on our immigrant communities ❤️✊🏼🦋

At a retreat discussing world language business
Ignoring that today’s messages from our country’s new administration might be already extending hatred & discrimination against our communities 🥺

"When Mexico sends its people, they're sending their best. They're sending firefighters to help solve American problems. They're bringing fire fighting uniforms. They're bringing fire fighting equipment. They're bringing kittens down from trees. And all, I assume, are good people."

I don’t want my class to prepare students for ‘the real world.’

I want my class to help students dream of a better world.
