Screenshot of an excerpt from a set of poems by called poems beginning And And when I die suddenly, because I will, not today, maybe not tomorrow, know that I haven't seen a doctor for the last five years or so because I can't afford it, but also the last doctor I saw was pushed out of town because the governor blocked access to the care I need for just long enough for them to lose patients, so now My death won't be for me, I'm over all that. I've brought life into this world in so many other ways that you might not understand, but I mean it, I'm not leaving it for myself. There's a moment everyday that I will live for, if I can find it. In the hanging palms, the moths sparkling against the porchlight, voices in all the words I've learned from you, As if it were merely the silence of melting ice. I hate poems like this. . And as the night lifts up around me its cool sweat over my body napping forgetfully in some misty kinda air fryer dreamery, two hours, five hours, six or so even, what wakes me up is the AC blowing colder when you're not there for it to lean on. . And so you start to think there is no time to live the life you needed to feel the world over you will know it as your home like all the books unopened stories that are never going to be yours or anyone's alone yet there are no places for this feeling Screenshot of an excerpt from a set of poems by called poems beginning And And like pigeons carousel to long since mystified human hands, I forget to eat but then the mere breath of what it is to know another dries like the meal worms in the birdseed . And in this moment do not remember me. There were two cats left at the doorstep at the shelter I work at. My life has transformed into only counting days ahead, clearing the way for bills, meals, then the dregs of someone else's wealth. Two other cats came back to us after we rehomed them, family now living in a hotel room after eviction. No days without desperation like an elderly woman who's husband died, can no longer care for them, please take them, I will have to put them down if you dont, ok fuck, we'll put them upstairs in air conditioned storage...I over hear from Rachel while cleaning. Bart's eye hole rotted out from a botched enucleation. Benson's whole left face swole up, had an abscess tooth removed, all in all we always hope it's not cancer. Putting a shelter cat thru chemo isn't like how it would be for yours when they are close, home. Keri couldent eat for a week from her tooth pain, we gave her so many treats, in a last attempt to save her she had so many teeth removed, but it probably made her worse - turns out she had cancer, died a week later, puked blood so we rushed her to the last vet to see her to give her a quiet release. It wasn't quiet at the high capacity clinic where we took her when it was the only place that would see her on short notice. Holli, who took her, waited until they forgot she was waiting. When she went to get Keri from the back, the vets apologized. We got her back to put her in the ground, loved her all the while, love her still. Every cat we lose is buried on the property, we hold a small ceremony remembering the grace we have been given to offer these lost creatures some peace with comfort in a life where the fate of domestication is abondonment to crestin…

I haven't been reading enough poetry lately to say so but I have always been very skeptical about poetry's ability to be truthful, let alone to say the truth yet when it tries it's grasping for universality that can't be, as there is just no experiential transference, that's why we have to share it.

he never said arresting netanyahu would make him a trumpian fascist. that phrase was posted by an account known for using extreme rhetoric to accuse mamdani of effectively saying that as a result of him softening.
