I hated going to school, for reasons that went beyond “it was boring” and that I still find defensible. But when I meet people who think it’s all busywork, I want to scream.
Like AI itself aside, a moment that makes you realize you are talking to someone who is broadly incapable of understanding, at a fundamental level, the nature of education as a public good and how that works for building a civil culture instead of a machine that only produces laborers, etc.
