October is done, and so is the challenge. Shamefully, it turns out I left in a wicked number of errors I should've caught. OH WELL. It was still tremendous fun participating in this, and in a format I am comfortable with to boot.

One of the things I like about Exalted 3e is that it is a rare system that makes
"you don't actually get hit, you just lose advantageous position"
a playable, usable mechanic, rather than an unsustainable reflavouring of a bog-standard HP loss.

i take frenzy damage every time i see someone go "well i just use it for the boring stuff". what are you TALKING about? if it's boring or unimportant, why are you putting it in? NPC dialogue is fertile ground for worldbuilding, creating verisimilitude, conveying important information, and hijinks!!
Buy a solo indie dev's game because I want to support them.

Video games and TTRPGs are such a fun, engaging way to learn new words and concepts.
I can't imagine why anybody in the business of making them would genuinely want to push towards making them linguistically blander.

there is almost no feedback I will reflexively ignore as a game developer but “you shouldn’t name something X because people don’t know that word” is one of them. oh no! You might learn a new word! God forbid you take away a piece of knowledge from a game that’s not a brand of gun or some shit lol

One of the producers on Guilty Gear Strive said it was basically impossible to source player feedback on balance changes online because nobody had original opinions and would just parrot what the most popular content creators said and so they had to rely on data and I think about that every day.

I should finally commit to learning how to draw if only to stop using existing assets for my videos.
It would make my life so much easier if I could just make whatever image would punctuate my point the best.
For now, I'll need to rely on images from the sourcebooks, and other media.
