Ongoing maintenance of municipal is paid by property taxes as well

I told you the roads bicycles are allowed on are municipal roads funded by property taxes it's very straightforward

The roads paid for (though far far from in full) by gas tax or registration fees are largely limited use highways that bikes don't or can't use.

It's not even close either, the on road bike infrastructure is municipal and was paid for with federal grants and money raised through general fund taxes.

Off road trails are largely state parks general fund money (DEM here) and if they were DOT they came out of some special grant or mitigation

The problem is those won't send reminders and they don't check the calendar app unless prodded by an annoying calendar reminder (highly relatable)
