In his deposition for his Medicare fraud case, where he committed (at the time) the greatest amount of Medicare fraud ever, Rick Scott invoked the 5th Amendment 85 times.

This is who the GOP has as their "Healthcare Expert".
COLLINS: What do you say to people who say Republicans have had 15 years to change the ACA and they haven't done it?

RICK SCOTT: Why didn't Democrats fix it?

I love that Rick Scott is on CNN talking about all the waste and deception in the health care/insurance business. He really is an expert since his company paid a record $1.7 billion in fines for Medicare fraud.

BREAKING: The House of Representatives just passed a bill that would subject immigrant children to invasive bodily searches and keep them in detention instead of releasing them to their families.

The Senate must vote no on this horrific bill.

"I didn't vote for invasive bodily searches of immigrant children!" cry the people who voted for invasive bodily searches of immigrant children, either by voting GOP or refusing to vote Democratic (sin of commission vs. sin of omission).

Ahmed al Ahmed, the man who tackled one of the Bondi killers, became an Australian citizen 3 years ago.

His deed was "his way of conveying his gratitude for staying in Australia, for being granted citizenship."

He took 5 bullets, and fears he'll lose his left arm.

Despite Ahmed al Ahmed being in a lot of pain, according to his migration lawyer, he felt as if disarming the gunman at Bondi was an act for the community.

My thoughts are with everyone affected by the horrific attacks in Providence and Bondi Beach this weekend. In moments of fear and darkness, students helped each other shelter. Bystanders disarmed gunmen. May we build a world where such acts of heroism are no longer necessary.

Steve isn’t here anymore, but he always posted this picture on Hanukkah so I thought we could carry on his tradition and remember him.
Happy Hanukkah to our friends who celebrate. Rachel Posner, a rabbi’s wife in Kiel, Germany, took this photograph in 1931 -- a potent reminder that fascism must be fought in every generation, even if it's wrapped in an American flag and a red hat.

I’m heartbroken by the news of a horrific mass shooting at Brown University and sending love and prayers for the victims, their families, and the entire Providence community.

We must act now to end this painful epidemic of gun violence. Our children should be safe at school.

School should not sound like gunfire.

Today, students at Brown University were forced into a reality no one should ever have to prepare for. Gun violence has become a constant threat in American education, from elementary schools to college campuses, because our so-called leaders refuse to act.

Jennifer and I send our deepest condolences to the Brown University community.

Gun violence has no place in this country. These acts of violence are vile and devastating. We pray for the safety of everyone affected.
