still fleshing out this theory (pun intended, I guess?) but there is so much magical and symbolic thinking going on when people talk about "nutrition"

people seem to food as a source of not just potential biological contagion, but social, and, even weirder, symbolic contagion via sympathetic magic

The daily onslaught of actual antisemitism side by side w/ bad faith weaponization of antisemitism really is impacting Jews standing against the genocide. We are fighting the weaponization but we’re fighting antisemitism directed at us too. Please stop saying antisemitism isn’t an issue in the US

Today I learned there's such a thing as a semi-slug!!
A classic Dad Joke:
You'd think removing the shell
from a racing snail 🐌💨 would
make it faster, but it just
makes it more sluggish. 🥁

Let's talk about the SNAIL-SLUG CONTINUUM!
(which sounds like a Dr. Who episode)

For example, what the heck is this?
It's a SEMI-SLUG.

Do you ever just stop and take a moment to think just how weird it is that we live on the same planet as snails?

Today I'm drinking a veldt mini from my big bag of white2tea minis. My exploration of raw puerh continues to be "i like it". First infusion was not particularly complex; second one is much more fun (and a little bitter but not in a bad/sharp way) now that the leaves are awake.

dvar torah thread 🧵 for this week's parsha
At Torah reading today, I naturally got to get angry, again, on the concept of a parent being ready to, literally, sacrifice their own child for their beliefs.

So obviously, I now gotta share a part from my sermon last year on Rosh Hashanah on the topic of the Akedah, the Binding of Issac.

hebrew is difficult and i have to keep reminding myself i do know more of it than i used to, because the class i'm in is slightly too fast for me so i'm constantly feeling behind. which the teacher says is normal since it's a lot of stuff to stick into a 2 semester class.
