what a day to fired up an old Twitter account! It's literally the best day ever on that platform as we see lots of those outraged MAGA accounts are in fact another iteration of the 'Nigerian Prince and a frozen bank account'.

have to say, it is pretty cool that X now tells you where an account is based. Turns out that many of the MAGA outrage crowd are not based in the U.S. Who could have imagined??

Took 7 year old son to the Lovell radio telescope at Jodrell Bank today, where they had a fantastic exhibition showing some of the photography from the 1965 Gemini missions. Hopefully the next generation of Traveller GMs starts here!

Imagine telling an unwell patient that you have news about their health, but it'll be 3 months until you can tell them the full diagnosis and treatment plan. In the meantime, you tease them with the possibilities. Imagine what that would do to them. That's what UK gov have done with this budget.

I have no strong position on whether dude in the beer jacket is AI-generated or not, but I will note that if it real it would only be performance art--I can think of much better pastimes than lugging around 50-100+ pounds of liquid that is slowly sapping my body heat to become undrinkably warm.

Their loss our gain, Europe (as a continent) could be resurgent.
There are multiple folks who I know personally at work who are looking for jobs overseas and/or already have interviews.
The United States was the leading destination for top scientists from all over the world.
That is ending. Politicians ended it. It will cripple our future competitiveness.
And it’s such a bitter tragedy. Almost no Americans, Conservative or Liberal, grasp what is now being stolen from them.

Our Northumbrian digs has tons of old DVDs and tonight’s viewing is this absolute classic. It must be 30 years since I’ve seen it and Mrs DemonSamurai has NEVER SEEN IT!!

Half term holiday at Beadnell in Northumbria and I found this book in the digs and am enjoying it a lot. Plenty about the martial & raiding tradition of the NE ‘Borderlands’ in the first 1/4 of the book. Think I’ll be buying it to finish when we return home tomorrow.

Half term holiday at Beadnell in Northumbria and I found this book in the digs and am enjoying it a lot. Plenty about the martial & raiding tradition of the NE ‘Borderlands’ in the first 1/4 of the book. Think I’ll be buying it to finish when we return home tomorrow.
Visit to Lindisfarne today, & I’ve learnt that 140-160 people live on the island full time. It def has a Cthulhu Cult vibe about it, with plenty of locations for decaying jetties. The locals all looked totally normal, which is of course, suspicious as hell.
