In journalism school the iconic prof “Shoe” told us he’d flip through the newspaper until something made him say “what the hell????” Then he’d write his column. I say that like 12 times a minute now.

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

During the quaint ancient scandal called Watergate, there came a time when the downhill slide of a president became unstoppable.

Circumstances are different now. But political physics is the same.

Attendees at last night’s White House dinner honoring MBS were all doing business with him and Saudi Arabia.

Under Trump, the only normative rule is to gain as much power and money as possible.

Power and wealth are honored, even if the honoree has greenlit a brutal murder.

OMG. He’s said so much insane 💩 today…but it’s OK if you imagine a child saying “quiet, piggy” 🐷 after each sentence.
Trump: "Azerbaijan -- I settled that. Actually Putin called me, he said, 'I can't believe you go that one settled. We've been trying to settle that one for a long time.' I said, 'Don't worry about that, just let me settle your frickin' war.'"

⬇️ “His corrupt bargain has had an exorbitant cost…

“As the justices keep rushing to Trump’s aid, Democrats grow more open to reform if they return to power — and thus Roberts lashes himself more tightly to Trump’s mast.”
Since helping Trump return to power, the Supreme Court’s GOP majority has permitted a long list of his lawless actions, using its shadow docket to back him roughly 90 percent of the time.
This is all John Roberts’ fault
Trump owes his corrupt and abusive reign to one man.

The executive branch is weakened beyond repair and the pathetic legislative branch has finally found its bottom.

Looking at you, Justice Roberts.

How dumb are these people?

Truly.

This coming on the heels of the magistrate judge in Comey’s case skewering Halligan & the FBI for illegal and improper handling of the investigation and indictment.
BREAKING: Prosecutors in the Comey case just told the judge that they’re under orders from the Deputy Attorney Generals’s office not to disclose whether career prosecutors wrote a memo recommending *against* indicting Comey prior to Halligan going to the grand jury.

The great unraveling 🍿🍿
WATCH: Speaker Johnson says he’s “deeply disappointed” the senate passed a bill he voted for 🤔

@rokhanna.bsky.social : “Johnson looks frazzled. He’s lost it, attacking a bill the survivors wanted without talking to them… that he voted for. He has lost the confidence of half his caucus.”

I think the President of the US responding to a question about the murder of a journalist with "A lot of people didn't like that gentleman" is probably pretty bad.

Mike Johnson says he will continue working to cover up the Epstein files 👇
Mike Johnson says he's talked to Thune & he's "very confident that when this moves forward in the process - if & when it is processed in the Senate, which is no certainty - they will take the time methodically to do what we have not been allowed to do in the House. To amend this discharge petition."

I am outraged by the continued and expanding deployment of U.S. Border Patrol and ICE agents in North Carolina. This is not law enforcement—it is state-sanctioned intimidation of our communities, and it cannot be tolerated.

Read my full statement.

The plan is to take money from health insurance companies so you can pay insurance companies much more to go back to denying your care.

We always wanted to release the Epstein files we’ve moved heaven and earth to suppress.

These people try to sell the Brooklyn Bridge to Americans every damn day.

The Epstein emails have damaged Trump beyond repair, because the public has now seen the gross moral rot behind Trump's presidency and the elites who prop it up (and fawned over a convicted sex creep)

Take your money out of AI and into pitchforks. My new column www.inquirer.com/opinion/epst...
Epstein’s emails are the end of America as they ruined it
If the evil banality of the world's most powerful people exposed in the Epstein emails doesn't cause a revolution, nothing will.

Pay attention to how big news organizations are describing Epstein’s death. It’s now much more like “he was found dead…it was ruled a suicide…” not “he killed himself.”
