Bleh. The history of how we choose to portray and remember the revolution is extremely important so I see its inclusion as relevant, but that's just IMO.

Speaking of... everyone should read @michaelhattem.bsky.social 's book, Memory of 76. #HATM

Its Thanksgiving so I want to say thank you to the wonderful editors and peer reviewers who make excellent scholarship possible. Now that I'm a real PhD, I want to pay it forward by writing minimum 1 book review a year & peer-reviewing at least one article a year. So hit me up! #editing #Skystorians

If you want to learn about the two specific and opposing memories or narratives of the Revolution that Ken Burns is trying to mash together in this documentary…
Hey #skystorians, what are the classic or new books you're recommending when your non-specialist friends are watching Ken Burns and want to read more?

2.) @michaelhattem.bsky.social 's Memory of '76.

Just finished reading The Memory of '76 by @michaelhattem.bsky.social. Can't recommend it enough. I just loved it. The perfect book for right now. Go buy it, especially if you're not an academic historian but want an accessible read to help you understand this bizarre commemorative moment.
