Worth watching this in full. The statement is more powerful than this quote alone. Here is is from USA Today, with alt text.

The city of Minneapolis, where you can genuinely say "but WHICH dildo related anti-ICE demonstration in 2026 did you mean?"
At Whipple where expired dicks are being thrown at ICE vehicles and those believed to be agitators. The area has been a place of protest since thousands of federal agents arrived in the city.

Not a joke: since I’ve been in Minnesota this past week I’ve had four people who have said, “Thank you for bringing the warm weather from California.”

Her testimony is everything and it deserves to be heard, by everyone. Decide for yourself.

It’s powerful. It’s gut-wrenching. And no one should have to survive what she did.

Quite the coincidence: I just happened to be watching @velshi.com on MSNOW and @haejongkim.bsky.social appeared. She represents my brother on the St. Paul City council and was there to talk about all of the ICE monitoring organizing.

Many Minnesotans have organized "rapid response" groups to observe federal agents and alert their neighbors of their presence. St. Paul City Council VP Hwa Jeong Kim, who volunteers with one such group, calls it "a form of nonviolent protest" to hold the federal government accountable. #Velshi
'A form of nonviolent protest:' St. Paul Council VP on neighborhood rapid response teams
As Minnesotans respond to and resist the Trump administration's immigration crackdown, "rapid response" groups have organized to keep an eye out for federal agents and alert their neighbors. St. Paul City Council Vice President Hwa Jeong Kim, who volunteers as a part of one such group, says that "our main goal is to observe" and that "we know our streets and our neighbors the best." Kim says she views the group's work as "a form of nonviolent protest" to hold the federal government accountable.

My new favorite word is “troodontid” which is a “omnivorous, birdlike dinosaurs that had large, forward-facing eyes” and large brains.

“The Troodontids” would be an excellent band name.

We would also like to remind people that Prince is from Minnesota.
Folks, if you know any Minnesotan, you'll know that many of us will bring up Minnesota and Minnesota things at every possible opportunity. If we manage to ride out military occupation, we're going to be absolutely insufferable for the next 20 years. Think about what you're risking here.

Let us all remember that the violent, cowardly ICE agent Jonathan Ross had the most training and experience amongst ICE. He still murdered someone, and all of his fellow comrades are even more dangerous than him.

It's likely that the behavior and tactics of ICE agents in Minnesota stems from a mix of incompetence and impunity.

Not even the millionth worst thing that ICE has done in Minneapolis, but notable:

My mom told me that yesterday she was afraid to attend the memorial for her late friend because it was held a few blocks from where Renee Good was murdered. She was terrified of all of the indiscriminate ICE violence.

I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

I will never lose my childhood joy of seeing a massive hook & ladder fire truck. (We all had fire trucks with ladders as toys and they were awesome!)

That said, I’m puzzled as to why they’re now currently deployed to park outside any emergency call that doesn’t even necessitate an ambulance.
