This week, I led a debate on the huge disruption caused by plans to close J38 of the M6 at Tebay for 18 months southbound, and then for another 18 months northbound.

I'm glad that the Roads Minister said that National Highways will now be conducting a review into proposals for temporary slip roads.

I'm shocked to learn of the serious incident on Boase Avenue St Andrews this morning - my thoughts are with the person who was injured.

I know this has shaken the local community but I’m assured that the police are continuing their enquiries.

Why is the Prime Minister ignoring his own Chief Economic Advisor, who recommended a Customs Union with the EU to boost growth?

Instead he's choosing to hike taxes in a cost of living crisis.

👨‍⚕️ Support for Milngavie Health and Care Centre.👩‍⚕️

Speaking in the budget debate this week I asked the Government to join me in writing to the Scottish Government to request that they use their increase in funding to support the creation of a health and care centre in mid Dunbartonshire.

Last night, I voted against Labour’s botched budget. It could have been a budget of opportunity for hard working people and small businesses. Instead, it is a budget of tax rises and broken promises.

Though I understand this Government has inherited a difficult economic landscape after a decade of Conservative mismanagement, I cannot overlook the missed opportunities for a fair and growing economy. 🧵

The only 'peace' which Russia will accept is one which carves up Ukraine's territory, destroys its sovereignty and turns it into vassal state for Putin to plunder.

We Europeans cannot let that happen.

Their commitment to the arts and the community is brilliant to see, not to mention their fabulous wardrobe!

At last week's #PMQs I pushed the PM to say what his plans are to urgently get people home from hospital but are stuck there because of our failing social care system...

...he had no decent answer
The Prime Minister’s reply dodges the crisis facing our hospitals: blocked beds, limited social care, and services overwhelmed.

Reforms in 2026 won’t help patients stuck this winter, action is needed right now.

A terrible admission of failure this. Why would anyone vote Reform when by their own admission they cannot win? Equally why would Conservatives find this attractive?
