At last week's #PMQs I pushed the PM to say what his plans are to urgently get people home from hospital but are stuck there because of our failing social care system...

...he had no decent answer
The Prime Minister’s reply dodges the crisis facing our hospitals: blocked beds, limited social care, and services overwhelmed.

Reforms in 2026 won’t help patients stuck this winter, action is needed right now.

The ASGSF is a lifeline for adoptive children and their families.

I pressed a Minister on it's importance. While he agreed that a 5% breakdown rate is too high, he failed to recognise the crucial role the ASGSF plays.

I’ll keep pushing the government to reverse its cuts.

Yesterday morning I visited Keymer Hall, a new care home on Kings Way in Burgess Hill.

I even got the chance to try out the 'dementia bus', which attempts to replicate the experience of people living with the disease.

I don't want to see the IB stop at Varndean because of short sighted government cuts.

The Argus has written up last week's visit to Downing Street where we presented a petition to save the IB.

Today is #WorldAIDSDay

We all have a role to play in stopping HIV. By raising awareness, supporting prevention, and ensuring access to treatment, we can achieve zero new transmissions.

I was in Tesco in #BurgessHill this morning with Mayor Stuart Condie helping with the Fareshare Winter Food Collection for our local foodbanks and the BH Pantry.

Thank you to everyone who is doing their bit to help those who won't have enough this winter. Your generosity means so much.

I spent yesterday morning packing boxes with the team at Haywards Heath Town Council for their 'Leave No One Behind at Christmas' campaign.

These gifts will be delivered to those in Mid Sussex who need support and a reminder that our community values them.

Thank you to Burgess Hill Library for displaying some of the winners and highly commended artwork from my 2025 Christmas card competition.

The display has now moved to Haywards Heath Library, where you will be able to visit it from today.

There is an entire hospital's worth of people in beds across University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust who are well enough to go home.

But they can't because there is no social care package in place.

So, today at PMQs, I asked the PM how he plans to get these people home for Christmas.

Today's #budget must set things right by British farmers.

The government has repeatedly dealt blows to those who put food on our tables.

I will be listening keenly in the House of Commons today... and will keep pushing hard if the budget doesn't deliver what Farmers deserve.

I visited the pathology lab at the Royal Sussex County Hospital on Friday, met the team, and learned about their work.

Then, I sat down with Andy, Chief Executive of the Trust, to discuss the current situation in our local NHS and what positive changes are being made.

This morning I delivered the 'Save Our IB' petition to the Prime Minister, along with MP colleagues and IB school leaders.

The government's decision to cut funding is wrong. The IB is a world-class qualification that everyone should have the opportunity to study.

Sickness rates amongst drivers on Thameslink services are causing cancellations.

Long NHS waiting lists mean that, to tackle this, GTR are having to pay for private healthcare.

So I asked a Transport Minister if he thinks this is a good use of ever-increasing rail fares.

On Monday evening I spoke about Parkinson's in Parliament.

@parkinsonsuk and it's local branches do fantastic work to alleviate the pains and strains of this terrible disease.

But there's more to do, the state of care in the UK is not good enough and the government must act.

I proudly wore an orange flower crocheted by Hassocks' WI in Parliament for the UN's 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.

It was great to see many Lib Dem colleagues wearing these brooches during PMQs too.

We must do more to end violence against women and girls.
