This has to be one of the most short sighted and idiotic measures in the whole Budget. The equivalence of robbing Peter, to pay Paul, to destroy the planet. Absolutely pointless penny pinching.
Responding to Budget announcement that ECO scheme will be cut, while legacy costs moved into general taxation, @jessralston.bsky.social, @eciu.net said:

"Cutting the only long-standing, flagship insulation scheme means uncertainty for 20,000 jobs in the industry."

Only the Lib Dems beat Reform every week.

This is for a simple reason: most people dislike Reform and know that the Lib Dems represent everybody in society, not just one group.

Nigel Farage has spent £1m taking out adverts in the papers to distract from the Nathan Gill Russian bribe scandal.

We can't let him buy himself out of this. We need an investigation into Russian influence in our politics.

Hard hitting words from Chris Packham to politicians and leaders at the National Emergency Briefing on climate and nature:

"You MUST listen to the science. We didn't just elect you. We've given you our trust. You are about to hear from leading scientists. I beseach you to hear their truth"

A welcome statement from the Environment Agency today and the JUWC including the most positive sign to date that government will and is looking at urgent action to clear the sight and prevent further imminent environmental damage.

This is now the 3rd large scale waste dump which is the result of serious and organised waste crime to be uncovered since the HoL Climate Change & Environment Committee Report was published just one month ago. The EA agues they only previously knew of 6 sites in the UK of this size.

A pleasure to attend the National Emergency Briefing this morning. I agree with Chris Packham Politicians need to take responsibility and provide hope. I am always reminded that every disaster film starts with a politician ignoring the warnings of a scientist.

The Prime Minister just told me any party leader should want to get to the bottom of this Russian bribery scandal with Reform.

He is the Prime Minister and a party leader. Why isn't he launching a national investigation himself?

There were zero plans to invest in our natural capital - despite the fact it would add billions to our economy, create jobs & benefit the whole of society in countless ways.

Ignoring nature is short-sighted.
