Good news! Even if you couldn’t make it to #GodotFest this year, all the recorded talks are now gradually being uploaded to our YouTube channel.
If you’d like to support the speakers (and us!) in reaching a wider audience, a like and sub would be awesome!

This is literally what people do when they're not left scrambling for survival every hour of every day. They build communities, create things, contribute. Wikipedia isn't an anomaly, it is a distillation of human nature itself
“Wikipedia is this economic anomaly. In many ways, it’s sort of magical that people will just volunteer without explicit economic incentives to create artifacts that are meant to share knowledge with everyone in the world”

Small prototype of a deferred renderer in Godot 4.4. I managed to implement everything directly in GDScript using the built-in RenderingDevice API—no engine recompilation needed. The amount of features accessible this way is just impressive.

The Godot project keeps growing, and the Foundation needs to scale up its management to deal with the matching increase in workload and complexity.

This is a position for an *actual* Project Manager (or Game Producer moving into software?), not like the title I wrongly chose for myself years ago :P
The Godot Foundation is looking for a skilled Project Manager with software project management experience and a commitment to open-source development to join our team.

Maybe worth clarifying how #GodotEngine release cycles work for those not familiar.

4.5 dev 1 doesn't mean that we're already done with 4.5 features and wrapping up - in fact we're just getting started, and will merge a lot more new features in the next snapshots, until feature freeze and 4.5 beta.
Our first development snapshot for #GodotEngine 4.5 has arrived!

The coming of Spring (in the Northern hemisphere) has thawed the thick cover of feature freeze which held many feature PRs in stasis.

With a first harvest of ca. 400 PRs, it's time to start testing!
