As a youngster I read a lot about WW2. I've continued to do so as an adult. As such, I know that while things are just about as grim as they can be, there is still hope. Resistance works. In 1944 no one believed that there was hope for Germany or Italy, but good people prevailed eventually.

My baby has committed to college. Oof. It is a smaller campus of a larger public university, and I am pretty sure infants aren't allowed live in dorms.

Today I picked up a Clicklist order and rather than stacking the non-perishables on the counter, I took them down to the basement. We are at sink zero. I am really trying to keep the kitchen looking good. I worked really hard.

Saint Paul schools will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday to prepare for optional online learning.

I’ve seen schools close for snow, for pandemic, for natural disaster. I’ve never seen schools close because of threat from our own government.

I am extremely tired, so I'm hitting the hay.

Late last year I bought decent gloves, and assumed that meant we would no longer have cold weather as I was prepared. I am shocked to say I have now worn my gloves on four different occasions. This is unheard of! Normally such preparation would bring on 80° weather! Fleece lined gloves are lovely.

I came home and ran the dishwasher at lunch. I have unloaded and reloaded it because there is no way I am letting all of my hard work go to waste so quickly. Also, rather than putting my coat on the back of the chair, I hung it up in the closet.

when you are asked to imagine a world without ICE, you're basically being asked to remember where you were when Lilo & Stitch came out

I'm reading Ghosts of Hiroshima. It tells the story of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I knew some people survived in each city. What I didn't realize is that multiple people survived Hiroshima, made their way to Nagasaki and survived that bomb as well. I cannot wrap my mind around that

My coffee is made for in the morning. I've got my clothes laid out, and I even used the clothes shaver on my shirt. The kitchen looks good, and I am proud of my hard work. I'm going to shower and hit the hay. I have finished five books this year, so that is a nice way to start the work week.

UFYH continues! I have taken several items down to the basement pantry. I have gotten laundry started. I'm determined to get the front of this house organized enough that if someone drops by I can invite them in without embarrassment!

I have changed the sheets on the bed, and I am going to get a shower and then read. Please remember that you have to take care of yourself in order to take care of others.

We used to have an Australian priest at our church and he introduced us to the New Zealand Book of Common Prayer and I loved it. I have contemplated buying one for myself. This line of prayer has always stuck with me.

It is overcast and rainy here, so I took a nap today. I am back to UFYH so I cleaned the electric griddle and put it back where it belongs in the basement pantry, and I took the deviled egg tray down there at the same time. I am cleaning the very gross stove top. I need to work on the table.

I did not realize that the majority of states allow kids to register to vote once they are 17.5. The Teen registered to vote last night, and she is pumped to vote in the primary in May.

I logged off of work and spent thirty minutes UFYH. I am resting for a minute, and then I'll do some more cleaning. I also need to do some decluttering and do a quick closet clean out.

I am sad and angry about everything this administration is doing. I also have so much on my plate, that I really don't have the bandwidth to post about the non-stop tragedies. It is so bleak. It is so grim. Your mental health matters, so take a break from social media as needed!

Oh!!! The Boarshead Greek yogurt dark chocolate dip is disgusting. See also: their key lime dip! I had to throw them out. Like, you couldn't add anything to fix them.
