I’m seeing increased use of this word and I just want to gently suggest that if there’s one word you can manage to remove from your vocabulary it should be this one.

It was coined by a eugenicist who used it as a diagnosis to forcibly institutionalize and sterilize mentally disabled people.
The Origins of the Word "Moron" Are Actually REALLY Sinister
It's much more than just a casual insult.

This is extraordinary.

They aren’t just kicking the ICE agents out.

They’re temporarily closing the hotel altogether due to “heightened safety concerns in St. Paul.”
ICE agents at a hotel in St. Paul woke up this morning to news that they’re getting kicked out of their hotel today at noon.

Ignorance of Springsteen's politics aside, I'd certainly love to hear Gabe expound on his understanding of Christianity as a pro-ICE faith.

These are concentration camps. And these are the numbers they're comfortable sharing.
This is the sixth death in ICE custody in 18 days. This isn’t enforcement, it’s a system that cages people, outsources care, and shrugs when they die. Abolish ICE.

Europe holds roughly $8 trillion in US assets. If they start dumping Treasuries in a coordinated way, it could destroy our country without firing a single bullet.

If you live in the Cities, an easy way to help immigrant families in hiding is: laundry! Laundromats are ICE magnets, so people without washers need help.

The People’s Laundry will drop off laundry to your door to wash and dry and pick up a few days later:

Since taking office, Trump has canceled or halted enforcement actions against 166 corporations accused of illegal conduct.

At least a third of those companies have close ties to his administration, including over 30 that have donated to Trump's ballroom.

The Government is planning to send King Charles to the US to celebrate with Trump. Giving him a royal visit right now sends a terrible message that his behaviour is acceptable. We can stop this if enough of us speak up.

really? here’s a counterfactual argument that respects human life: “Nicole Good might’ve survived had life-saving measures not been blocked”

This is the story of the day. Share it. We are all being called to be our highest selves. The cavalier treatment of the Nobel Prize is a disgrace. It represents another way to destroy and defile that which should be precious and revered.

We can all make choices to be better.
This is your reminder that Hungarian-Jewish scientist George de Hevesy dissolved two Nobel Prizes in aqua regia to keep them out of the hands of the Nazis.

He then left the dissolved solution on his shelf and fled to Sweden.

(After the war he un-dissolved the gold and the prizes were re-cast.)
