Notably, Booker is still talking about policy and staying on message. Much earlier into their own filibusters, Ted Cruz was reading Green Eggs and Ham and Thurmond was reading from the phone book.
Booker has surpassed Proxmire's 16 hour, 12 minute filibuster on the debt ceiling to claim the fifth longest filibuster in US history. He's coming up on La Follette's 18 hour, 23 minute filibuster on Aldrich-Vreeland currency bill.
I also feel like there would be some important symbolism in Senator Booker unseating Strom's 24 hour and 18 minute filibuster of the Civil Rights Act as the longest filibuster in history.

Love this, love Dropkick Murphys
Dropkick Murphys just had an epic moment at their show:

They made a friendly wager with a fan in a MAGA shirt—“Let’s see where it’s made.”

Then they checked his MAGA shirt tag…

Made in Nicaragua.

They swapped it with a Made in America Dropkick Murphys tee.

Legendary.

For an already grossly understaffed agency this is tragic. To the party who claimed to prioritize veterans, who blacklisted anyone who knelt for the national anthem because it allegedly insulted veterans. Will you call your Congresspeople for this?? Will you attend town halls with the same energy?
Getting rid of the American workers who take care of American veterans is wrong.

Veterans will not take this sitting down - we can make this the newest example of Trump being forced to back down from a bad move.
Trump administration plans to cut 80,000 employees from Veterans Affairs, according to internal memo
The Department of Veterans Affairs is planning an “aggressive” reorganization that includes cutting 80,000 jobs from the sprawling agency.

Youve never heard of @team18f.bsky.social but if you’ve ever used a govt website, you have them to thank for it running smoothly.

And they were all just fired.

I have a feeling this is not something that R voters and constituents can twist, so I recommend sharing their story far and wide!

Try to send private security with zip ties to take away another woman in my presence…try it.

I may get my ass beat, but she’s not going down alone.

When Wells Fargo wrongfully foreclosed Americans' homes, the CFPB held them accountable.

When Bank of America flooded families with illegal fees, it got their money back.

The CFPB stands up to corruption on behalf of working people.

That's why Republicans want to "delete" it.

If you wanted to cut waste, fraud, and abuse, you would empower the inspectors general.

If you wanted more waste, fraud, and abuse, you would fire them.

Making a donation in her memory today, I encourage others to do the same and take bold action in line with her legacy. Heartbreaking
“When women are free to make their own decisions about their lives and to follow our dreams, we are unstoppable.”

Cecile was a force of nature. May her memory be a blessing.

When my brother was in the NICU, my father thought he'd "lighten the mood" by asking some of the parents if they knew why babies have soft spots in their heads... "In case there's a fire, they can carry out 6-10 at a time like bowling balls." He was asked to leave. Anyway, he'd appreciate this.
I have to take an annual fire safety training for work, and I am reminded that I asked some of the folks who manage these things how they evacuate the NICU and apparently they have vests you can load up with babies
