The BBC fiasco shows a core left–right difference, the left long criticised its bias but defends its core principles when unfairly attacked.
The right, having shaped its bias by installing their own, now gleefully throw it under the bus, amplify foreign attacks, and call for its destruction.

Great interview with Andrew Lownie about his book on the former Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson & the reaction to it by the palace. With a mention of the @fpalondon.bsky.social! We invited him for a press briefing in September when the UK media still tried to ignore the book.
Andrew Lownie wrote an explosive book about Prince Andrew
Then came the backlash.
Legal threats. Journalists were told they’d lose Palace access if they spoke to him
Anonymous social media accounts accused Lownie of visiting sex workers.
This is how ‘the Firm’ works youtu.be/OJHaVsDVv-c?...

The BBC’s week from hell might look like accountability - but there is more than a whiff of orchestration about it all.

England facing drastic measures due to extreme drought next year
Government and water companies are devising emergency plans for worst water shortage in decades
Water companies and the government are drawing up emergency plans for a drought next year more extreme than we have seen in decades.
Executives at one major water company told the Guardian they were extremely concerned about the prospect of a winter with lower than average rainfall, which the Met Office’s long-term forecast says is likely. They said if this happened, the water shortfall would mean taking drastic water use curtailment measures “going beyond hosepipe bans”. Continue reading...
