Human dignity is inviolable. Make the world you want to live in. There is no spare planet; progressive and reflective not mutually exclusive. Brexit disaster.

It is not the best of times, the worst of times are still to come.

It is the age of uneasy alliances, it is the age of isolationism.

It is the epoch of climate crisis, it is the epoch of selfishness.

It is the season of division, it is the season of chaos. /1

Selective philanthropist Bill Ackman is against Mamdani becoming the mayor of NY.
Gee, I wonder why?
I am watching this race with great interest while rooting for Mamdani.

How does it help the UK if a carer or even a doctor can recite Shakespeare?
“A-level English” is an empty slogan when even a German engineer at Rolls-Royce wouldn’t pass or need to.
If Labour wants credibility, they should make language standards fit the job, not political theatre.

Calling others “cretins”, very statesmanlike.

Breaking manifesto pledges before even coming to power, so very Nigel.

His “huge tax cuts” pledge has already joined the £350M a week for the NHS bus crash in the museum of Farage fiction.

Just read that Russia pays in crypto, so who gave him the cash?

As far as I am concerned, Netanyahu and his cabinet has lost all credibility. I do hope they are held accountable for their war crimes.
amrakunj.bsky.social
I wonder how much political capital Netanyahu will pocket from agreeing to Trump’s ceasefire, and how much future fortune Trump and his family will amass from cozying up to Arab leaders at the Gaza summit in Egypt.
amrakunj.bsky.social
Facts matter, no matter how many lies are spun and sold.
amrakunj.bsky.social
Despite his big promises, Netanyahu failed. He didn’t bring back the hostages nor did he eliminate Hamas.

It was a coalition of nations led by the US that negotiated with Hamas for a ceasefire and the release of remaining hostages in exchange for Palestinians illegally held in Israeli prisons.

He is making profit by selling weapons all over the ME. And perhaps land grab in Gaza.

Trump just asked someone who is sitting next to him to pardon Netanyahu?
Is this for his corruption trial?

So it is perfectly legal for Trump to interfere in Israel’s judicial matters?
amrakunj.bsky.social
When you elect genocidal, racist, power-hungry clowns as heads of state, you get a surreal scene, Netanyahu and Trump, applauding each other over a genocide, weapons transfer and land grabs.
amrakunj.bsky.social
And Trump’s speech, can be summed with the immortal words “small dick energy” with a generous side of a$$ licking.
His boasts about America’s weapons and those funnelled to Israel to pulverise a blockaded Gaza deserve scrutiny beyond applause.
The ICC should be listening. Russia, surely is.

Did Netanyahu just say, “May God bless this covenant between America and Israel”?

Victory laps at Netanyahu’s coven, while Trump sits there smugly.
No one dares ask the obvious,
Why did it take the world’s most powerful nation this long to bring Israeli hostages home?

True. They started and enabled at every stage this age of austerity, unreason and racism.

It all began with “the people of this country have had enough of experts..”
amrakunj.bsky.social
It is interesting. Can’t imagine it actually working though.

Thank you, will have a listen.

I understand your need to see things in black & white, but it isn’t that simple.
Just as the IRA’s entry into democratic politics brought accountability, same will happen with Hamas. Right now they see themselves as resistance.
As long as there is no two states, they won’t give up. /
amrakunj.bsky.social
No, it is actually a very good example.
The entire process from ceasefire to disarmament spanned over a decade. The IRA did not disarm overnight, there were setbacks and splinter factions that continued violence even as talks progressed. /1
amrakunj.bsky.social
I am not whitewashing Hamas. I am aware of their actions on Oct 7th & to Gazans. I just don’t think asking them to lay down the weapons is a practical ask when nothing similar is expected from Israel.

Look at Northern Ireland peace process and see when the IRA finally decommissioned weapons.

Nigel Farage went to Dulwich College which when he attended was more expensive than Eton

He earns £1.5m a year, 92% of which comes from dodgy donations

His girlfriend pays £885,000 in cash to buy houses but she's a waitress.

He's not a 'working man' he's very rich and corrupt

…its weapons?
Is Israel using its weapons to intimidate its neighbours?

Every US deal offer overwhelmingly favours Israel, demands the impossible from Palestinians, and then blames them for rejecting it, granting Israel free rein to act with impunity.
We have been here before. /
amrakunj.bsky.social
There is no guarantee Israel won’t continue its assault or keep its side of the bargain.
It is already not releasing all prisoners including Dr Abu Safiya, a pediatrician and Dr. Marwan al-Hams.

If “wars don’t end…” why ask only Hamas to lay down their weapons?
Is Israel laying down…
