Man in Cardiff. I can’t tell you who I work for because they wouldn’t approve. And most likely, nor would you.

I just found out about the Giorgio Moroder cut of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis and I now know what I’m watching this weekend. It’s set in 2026! It’s a dystopia about corporate control of humanity! I’m expecting it to be unnervingly accurate.

And to sound amazing 🤖

Surely only a matter of time before Nige himself is caught up in this?
Three more British MEPs in Nigel Farage’s bloc now alleged to have “followed the script” given to Nathan Gill by an alleged Russian asset, according to prosecutors.

At least eight UKIP and Brexit Party MPs were focus of efforts by Nathan Gill

This is what gets you the FIFA peace prize btw, extrajudicial killings (and joking about it). Not a problem.

What an incredible shock that Trump is awarded the FIFA peace prize that was created purely to curry favour with Trump. And what a grotesque stain on the beautiful game.

@endoftheroadfestival.com hi! I’ve been asked by ticket sellers if I’m bringing an electric vehicle. The options are “yes”, “no” and “don’t know yet”. If I’ll come in a plug-in hybrid, what should I choose? Cheers!

Love to see Wes Streeting’s performative anger at resident doctors’ striking over a 2.5% offer when pensioners get 4.7%.

Sorry but the triple lock is well past due for scrapping. Only 14% of over-65s vote Labour, who are they trying to impress?

I’m pretty sure I’m coming out ahead from my heat pump but I had an electric water tank before and I do pretty well out of taking advantage of cheaper periods, but this is really bonkers. All because levies are always added to electricity bills not gas. Govt literally subsidising carbon emissions.
There’s some very bad news hidden in the Ofgem price cap for January announced yesterday: the electricity to gas price ratio has jumped to 4.67, its highest level since before the energy crisis.

This is a big barrier to households adopting heat pumps in Britain, and threatens our climate goals

I’ve missed this feeling that only happens during Ashes series down under, of waking up, excitedly checking the cricket updates (nobody can say I’m not an optimist) and feeling immediate, deep despondency. Really sets you up for the day!

This is fascinating. I don’t think Trump is owning up to fascism here but he sees it as just a campaign attack line, not what Mamdani actually believes. Which is of course how Trump uses words himself. He doesn’t actually mean very much of what he says.
Q: Are you affirming that you think President Trump is a fascist?

MAMDANI: I've spoken about--

TRUMP: That's okay. You can just say yes. I don't mind.

This is deeply sad. Imagine having that much money and being so insecure that you need to unleash this on the world. Public masturbation on a grand scale.
I asked grok who was the better role model for humanity, Jesus Christ or Elon Musk. GUESS WHAT.

Just mind-bogglingly self-defeating. Reform voters aren’t coming back guys.

The downfall of Labour has been so rapid and unrelenting it can only be deliberate.

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.
