Wouldn't you know it.
My boiler has had a leak for a month, it usually holds pressure for about 4 hours & I can top it up to 1 bar when necessary. Thinking I should get it fixed before it gets properly cold I called plumber who is coming today.
The boiler is still holding pressure after 24 hours

On the UK-US pharmaceutical deal I'm afraid this does look like two nasty trends coming together to make a very bad agreement for the UK - namely Whitehall power to make deals with no scrutiny, and companies working with countries to coerce others. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

No idea what is wrong with the railways. My train yesterday was cancelled & now today's train is cancelled. At least I got a notification beforehand for yesterday's train.

I live in rural Somerset, and have been teaching my 84 year old mother ancient Somerset phrases, which I told her I had been researching. Most of these I have made up, and some come from old Wurzels songs. My mother, in turn, has been teaching her friends 'ancient Somerset' too.

Our family has used "that really boils my piss" as a metaphor for being irritated or angry since I was a child. Aged 32 I decided to try it. Last boxing day, powered by sherry, I pissed in my mum's Le Creuset casserole and boiled it. Good metaphor. My mum was livid.

One of my favorite Douglas Adams quotes:

“All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others.”

More timely today than ever, don't you think? 💙

Today I finally received a callback from DWP regarding missing NI years. Told to call the tax service & found out they have no record of receiving the cf83 form I submitted via gov.uk in February & the referance I got after submission was meaningless to them.
Got to do it all over again.🤬
