Absolute belter of a RuneQuest session tonight, as the adventurers cleared a scorpion man infestation out of an Earth temple. Gripping, mythic, heroic and hilarious: I’m in love with this game all over again. #weareallus

Basic Roleplaying: Creatures is out now. It’s a dangerous tome which adds 170 pages of monsters, animals and NPCs to Basic Roleplaying, and therefore to every other Chaosium game built on its fine bon...

Gemini: How about outsourcing human connection and gratitude, while abrogating involvement in a child's education?
Me: Nailed it.

It even flowed into Australia in the late 90s. Was then a FLGS Clerk who had a mum return D&D books her kid brought.

Rather than arguing, I convinced her King Arthur Pendragon was a better alternative, with players being chivalrous knights.

I concur. I remember the lad who once wore leather sandals to school and was forever after called Moses by his friends. 30 years later he is still Moses.

Or the girl who went to the pub wearing a top with leopard spots. Her friend ordered a pint "for Tony the Tiger" and the barman knew who he meant

Basic Roleplaying Creatures comes out this week. I'm not going to say it has all the world's monsters (boom tish) but it sure does have a lot, and these beasts are good to for any @chaosium.bsky.social game you play. My blog post reveals the table of contents: scary monsters, with some super creeps.

I think the first edition of Pendragon remains the most beautiful box set in the history of the roleplaying game art form. Gorgeous cover by Jody Lee, innovative but clean layout by Yurek Chodak, wonderful full colour map by Charlie Krank and above all the romantic interior art by Lisa Free.
