The killing of Alex Pretti is a heartbreaking tragedy. It should also be a wake-up call to every American, regardless of party, that many of our core values as a nation are increasingly under assault.

I am calling for the arrest and prosecution of the ICE agent that shot and killed Renee Good.

I saved this November 23 International Edition of the NYT and still have it in my trove of memorabilia. I was 25 And visiting Rome for 2 weeks. Long before the Internet I had to wait a day for English language newspapers to learn details of that tragic day.
