Two weeks ago, we at WIRED published a video showing how a hacked casino card shuffling machine can be used for undetectable cheating in poker. Now it turns out the mob and a couple of NBA stars were already (allegedly) using exactly this trick to make millions. www.wired.com/story/how-ha...
How Hacked Card Shufflers Allegedly Enabled a Mob-Fueled Poker Scam That Rocked the NBA
WIRED recently demonstrated how to cheat at poker by hacking the Deckmate 2 card shufflers used in casinos. The mob was allegedly using the same trick to fleece victims for millions.

So, I had posted this as a reply, but figure it might be better as a thread.

It turns out the Trump administration uses an app called TeleMessage to access Signal. Its source code leaked online ( @micahflee.com!)

WHAT DID WE LEARN FROM THE TELEMESSAGE SOURCE CODE (for absolute beginners)?

If there's one thing I've learned about covering cybersecurity over the past decade or so, is that the cybersecurity community (the fixers and breakers) and the cybersecurity industry (profits above all else) are two very, very different things.

There will still be workarounds, but they're making it harder

BS F-Zero Deluxe has also been updated to version 1.1 to include the original data from this one!

I’ve posted a detailed explanation of why the claimed ESP32 Bluetooth chip “backdoor” is not a backdoor. It’s just a poor security practice, which is found in other Bluetooth chips by vendors like Broadcom, Cypress, and Texas Instruments too. https://darkmentor.com/blog/esp32_non-backdoor/

4 day class covering the full Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocol stack from the bottom (PHY) up to the top (GATT). The core of the class is built around playing with a game application on an Android phone, talking via Bluetooth to an IoT-type piece of hardware, and analyzing the communication between them. The 4th day is focused on assessing a cutomized Ultra-Vulnerable Peripheral firmware, running on Zephyr RTOS, which has had vulnerabilities introduced into it which are representative of vulnerabilities found in the past across many other platforms.

I’ve noticed a trend, and even done it myself a time or two, but…

One of the most insufferable parts of the rise of LLMs is people who see a post or a question or whatever, paste it into an LLM, and the respond with “I asked an LLM” and paste the output.
